Estimated Cost of Attendance

Direct and indirect costs for student's education in order to plan financially

Understanding the Estimated Cost of Attendance

The amount of financial aid a student may receive from all sources, including scholarships, grants and loans, is capped by MC’s Cost of Attendance. The Cost of Attendance is an estimation of the student's budget that includes tuition and fees, books and supplies, housing, food, transportation, and miscellaneous/personal expenses.

This budget is intended as a guideline and not as a substitute for your own assessment of how much money you will need to attend Mississippi College. We include both direct costs (charges billed by Mississippi College) and indirect costs (realistic estimates of expenses for transportation and personal expenditures). All components included in the Cost of Attendance are defined by the U.S. Department of Education for institutions of higher education.

If a student finds that their expenses are beyond the allowances in the standard Cost of Attendance, a Professional Judgment may be requested to review actual expenses. A budget increase can also be reviewed in cases of additional actual course fees, PLUS loan origination fees, computer expenses, and professional testing/certification fees.  The review must be submitted with proper documentation supporting the request to increase the Cost of Attendance.

Taking more than 18 hours in a semester as well as Winter and Summer intersessions have additional costs. Summer semester costs will also be additional. Study Abroad costs will also vary. The Office of Financial Aid can assist with any questions regarding these various additional costs. Mississippi College’s Cost of Attendance for the 2024-2025 year is below. (These charts are based on 12 – 18 hours for Undergraduates and 9 hours for Graduate.)
